Physiotherapy depends heavily on exercise, education and regular progression. Much of that can be done well on video: watching how you move, correcting your posture and technique, adjusting the number of repetitions, and adding new exercises as you improve. What video cannot do is hands-on treatment, detailed physical testing or electrotherapy. That is why, for most patients, we start with an in-person home assessment and then mix home visits and video sessions based on what you need.
We also offer video consultations for people we cannot visit, for example family members living outside Jaipur, patients travelling for work, or people who want advice before deciding on a home visit. In these cases, we are clear about what is possible. A video consultation can give guidance, a home exercise programme and advice on when to see a doctor, but it is not a substitute for an in-person examination when one is needed.
Online sessions suit many conditions once they are assessed: back and neck pain from desk work, knee osteoarthritis exercise programmes, frozen shoulder stretching routines, sports injury progressions, posture work and general strength and balance programmes for older adults. For people recovering from stroke or living with neurological conditions, video can support home exercise practice and caregiver training, but regular in-person sessions are usually still needed. See our neuro physiotherapy page for more.
The setup is simple. You need a smartphone, tablet or laptop with a working camera and a stable internet connection, a clear floor space about the size of a yoga mat, and a sturdy chair. For elderly or less mobile patients, a family member or caregiver should be present for safety and to adjust the camera. We will tell you in advance if any simple items such as a resistance band, a towel or a small cushion are needed.
Your privacy matters. Sessions are one-to-one, are not recorded unless you specifically ask and agree, and you can choose a quiet room where you are comfortable. If you would like home visits for the hands-on part of your care, see our main home visit physiotherapy service, or read about back pain physiotherapy, one of the conditions that often works well with a home and video mix.
